I think John and Paul did actually tell each other of how they love each other via their songs and that one night in Florida in 1965. Idk the full story of the 1965 Florida night but it involved John and Paul crying and confessing how much they love each other. Not to mention the "I love yous" in their love songs.

yes, they confessed they loved each other many many times through their songs, and they probably also had a “confession night” during the night in Florida, it wasn’t really in Florida, they were in Key West and had a flight to Florida but they stayed in Key West due to a hurricane. 

Paul confessed that they were drunk, and that’s probably the main reason why they had the courage to talk to each other, but they never really talk when they were sober, and that’s the main, bigger reason why they had so many problems: miscommunication, I’ll never stop saying it. That was their main problem, they rarely talked and if they did it was all “ehm” “mmm” “I dont know”. They preferred talk to each other through their songs, and they knew it, that’s why sometimes you hear a paul’s song that is a answer to a john’s song.
